The OSSA TR (TRial), was a motorcycle trial model manufactured by OSSA between 1977 and 1985. Throughout its commercial life three versions were produced with the following general characteristics: two stroke single-cylinder air-cooled engine, available in two displacements (initially of 244cc and 310cc and, since 1980, of 230cc and 302cc), double cradle frame, drum brakes and conventional fork shock absorbers front and rear. A characteristic feature of all the versions was its unmistakable aesthetics and especially the adoption of a striking color, to the point that the bike was popularly known more for its color than for its commercial name.

During the 1979 season, Mick Andrews and his brand mate Albert Juvanteny tested in competition two prototypes of what would eventually become the TR 80, prototypes that did not go unnoticed by its yellow color. Meanwhile, engineer Mario Borrás was responsible for completing the project and development of the new OSSA TR 80 350, which was presented in the autumn of 1979 at the Paris Motor Show, obtaining a good reception thanks to its exceptional design.

The motorcycle was marketed from 1980 in the displacements of 350 (yellow) and 250 (orange). Meanwhile, OSSA signed the best Catalan driver of the moment, Toni Gorgot, with which they obtained numerous successes and got sales of the TR 80 skyrocket enormously (almost 5,000 units were produced).

This version of TR 80 started a new "saga" of trial motorcycles OSSA, totally renewing the concept that the brand had been applying since the first MAR and followed briefly by the TR 77. The new TR 80, known by all as the yellow for its striking all-round yellow color, represented an absolute improvement, not only in terms of aesthetics and chassis, but also to the engine.

The displacement of the 350 version was 303cc and not 350 as indicated in the commercial brochures. Similarly, the 250 version featured 230cc and went on the market in 1980 with the same yellow color as the 350, becoming orange since 1981.

This 250 from '81 is in good condition and for the most part original. The motor hasn't run for 20 years, but was running well at the time of purchase. It comes with Dutch papers.
