Ducati's first sports bikes - the superbikes of that era - date back to the early 1970s. These engines were made to win, and they did. They are now highly sought-after collector's items and are seen, both then and now, as a fine example in terms of style and performance and above all they are magnificent motorcycles to look at and to drive.
The Sport 1000 is borrowed from these early superbikes, although this mainly concerns the looks as it is a completely different and of course more modern machine. This model features a two-valve 1000DS engine, trellis tubular frame, 3-way adjustable single Sachs rear shock, 43mm Marzocchi front fork and wire wheels with Pirelli Phantom tires.
Since relatively few copies were produced, this model with only 15028 km on the clock is a rarity. This Sport 1000 is equipped with original sports exhausts from Ducati. Also fitted are a custom clutch and brake lever, and partly transparent clutch and camshaft covers.
