The second of Suzuki's big multi-cylinder four-strokes, the GS1000 arrived in the UK for the 1978 season. Despite an engine that looked similar to the GS 750, it was actually very different internally. The 997cc inline four engine produced 90hp and was good for 135 mph, while air forks at the front, and adjustable rear suspension as well as spring pre-load, made for superior handling when pressing on.
Historically significant as Suzuki's first one-litre multi, the GS1000 is today one of the most collectible of early Suzuki four-strokes.
This GS1000E has been restored by MOTO Classics a few years ago and has recently been fitted with a new exhaust.
